LOOK: SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Invades Cannes

Lucasfilm's “Solo: A Star Wars Story” held its own red carpet event at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Official Selection and Out of Competition. The film's director Ron Howard attended the premiere along with cast members Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany. Additionally, there was the surprise appearance of Chewbacca who also walked the red carpet. Catch more exclusive photos of the event below:



“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is the second film in the "Star Wars Story" series, following “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which opened in December 2016. Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
Directed by Ron Howard, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, Thandie Newton, and Paul Bettany.
