The wait is almost over as the long-awaited cinematic adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling young adult fantasy novel Children of Blood and Bone is officially heading to the big screen with an all-star cast to boot. Paramount Pictures has recently dropped its first teaser trailer which you can view below:
Directed by visionary filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood (known for The Woman King, the epic fantasy brings to life the African-inspired, vibrant, magical world of Orïsha. Children of Blood and Bone centers on a young woman who embarks on a dangerous journey to restore the magic that was violently stripped from her people. Alongside her brother, she forms an unlikely alliance with the king’s own children to rebel against his oppressive and ruthless reign. Written for the screen by Gina Prince-Bythewood and original author Tomi Adeyemi, the adaptation promises high-stakes action, rich world-building, and a powerful emotional core.
