"300: Rise of an Empire" Character Posters Unleashed

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have just unleashed character posters for “300: Rise of an Empire,” the prequel to the 2006 blockbuster, “300”. Launched specifically for this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, the posters individually feature the characters Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton), Artemesia (Eva Green), the Spartan Queen, Gorgo (Lena Headey), Aeskylos (Hans Matheron) and the Persian King, Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). Based on Frank Miller’s unpublished graphic novel “Xerxes” and told in the breathtaking similar visual style of “300”, this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy. Catch all of the posters after the jump.
