What was intended to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 U.S. Democratic National Convention turned into a violent clash against the police and the National Guard. The organizers of the protest — including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale — were charged with conspiracy to incite a riot and the trial that followed was one of the most notorious in U.S. history with results that questioned the legal system. "The Trial of the Chicago 7" is being directed by Academy and Emmy Award Winner Aaron Sorkin and headlines a talented and well-known cast with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, John Carroll Lynch, Eddie Redmayne, and Mark Rylance. The film was originally from Paramount Films but due to the pandemic was sold to Netflix and officially releases globally on October 16, 2020. Catch the film's trailer and poster below:
