QCCinema Film Festival 2020 Goes Online from November 27 to December 6, 2020

As others before it have proven, film festivals and films in particular can still be successful even without physical cinemas. Now, the latest film festival to reinvent itself and go fully virtual is QCinema - regarded as one of Southeast Asia's leading international film festivals. This year's event aptly called, "QCinema: A New Filmscape", will run through November 27 to December 6, 2020.

As for the festival's film slate, it will be a mix of ;ocal and foreign films including past entries. films will be available to stream through Upstream, a newly-launched VOD (Video-on-Demand) service. Tickets on the other hand can be purchased through the established online cinema ticketing service GMovies

While people may see the loss of physical cinemas as a downside, it can also be the reverse as now for the first-time ever, QCinema is available nationwide - of which the event was typically limited to the Quezon City theaters and NCR and Metro Manila residents. No confirmation if this will be available for international audiences.
Finally, QCinema will also make its past #QCShorts film entries completely free on its official website (QCinema.ph).  Unfortunately, no details yet on pricing as of press time.
