Academy Award Winner “POOR THINGS” Now Streaming on Disney+

Coming off multiple Academy Award® wins including Best Actress for Emma Stone and five more BAFTA Award wins (Best Actress, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hair, and Special Visual Effects),  those who missed "Poor Things" will now have an opportunity to watch the quirky yet captivating film. The movie is now available on Disney+  as of yesterday, April 10, 2024.

From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist, Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation. Based on the book by Alasdair Gray, the screenplay was written by Tony McNamara, making this the second collaboration between Lanthimos and McNamara.

Since the movie is one not suitable for younger audiences, robust parental controls ensure that Disney+ remains a suitable viewing experience for everyone in the family. Subscribers can set access limits on mature content and create PIN-protected profiles alongside the already existing Kids Profiles to give parents and guardians peace of mind.
