Filmed Version of Musical “HAMILTON” Hitting Philippine Cinemas on October 1, 2025

Walt Disney Studios has officially announced that the filmed version of the original Broadway production of the musical Hamilton will screen in select Philippine cinemas for a limited one-week engagement starting October 1, 2025.

This theatrical release offers audiences more than what’s currently available on Disney+. It includes “Reuniting the Revolution,” an exclusive special prologue featuring new interviews with the original cast and creators as they reflect on the show’s cultural impact nearly a decade after its debut.

“When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year on Broadway,” shares director and producer Thomas Kail. “We’re thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.”

The Philippines joins a global rollout of the cinematic stage experience: Hamilton opened in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico on September 5, reached the U.K. and Ireland on September 26, and will next expand to Australia and New Zealand on November 13.

The musical tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton through a groundbreaking score that mixes hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway. Since its premiere, Hamilton has become a cultural phenomenon, influencing politics, education, and global audiences. Shot at The Richard Rodgers Theatre in June 2016, the film immerses viewers in the live Broadway experience. With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and direction by Thomas Kail, the production is inspired by Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton. It is produced by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Jeffrey Seller, with Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman as executive producers. Filming was handled by RadicalMedia.

The award-winning cast includes Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Jonathan Groff (King George), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan/James Madison), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton), and Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton).

Don’t miss the chance to experience the musical phenomenon that redefined Broadway. Hamilton will be in select Philippine cinemas for one week only, starting October 1, 2025.
