‘BACKROOMS’ is Coming to the Philippines this June

Get ready to lose your sense of reality. The global phenomenon that turned the internet’s most unsettling "liminal spaces" into a viral nightmare is finally hitting the big screen. CreaZion Studios has officially confirmed that BACKROOMS will haunt Philippine cinemas starting June 3, 2026. Along with the date, we’ve been treated to an eerie first poster and a teaser  which you can view below: 

What started as a series of lo-fi videos by 20-year-old YouTube visionary Kane Parsons has evolved into a high-octane cinematic event. With nearly 100 million views on his original web series, Parsons is making his directorial debut under the wing of genre powerhouse A24. 

The film BACKROOMS promises not to be just a "creepypasta" adaptation but instead expanding the concept to a  full blown psychological sci-fi horror.

While the Backrooms are known for their emptiness, the film is packed with incredible talent. The cast is headlines by Chiwetel Ejiofor with Finn Bennett, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Lukita Maxwell, and Avan Jogia.

The teaser gives us a chilling glimpse: a strange doorway manifesting in the basement of a furniture showroom. From there, the viewer is plunged into a world where time slips and space shifts. The first official poster keeps it simple and terrifying highlighting that iconic, sickly yellow wallpaper that has become synonymous with the "Backrooms" legend.
