Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman Back as the Owens Sisters in PRACTICAL MAGIC 2

Dust off your broomsticks! Nearly three decades after the Owens sisters first danced in their kitchen, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are officially returning for Practical Magic 2. Based on Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic, this sequel promises to bring back the moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic that made the 1998 original a cult classic.

The teaser trailer reintroduces us to the Owens family, the witches from Massachusetts whose neighbors have long whispered about their supernatural abilities. But being an Owens comes with a price: a dark curse that ensures any man who falls in love with an Owens woman meets a horrible death. In this follow-up, Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman) must confront this ancestral curse once and for all. The stakes are higher than ever as the magic threatens to unravel their family.

The original duo Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are back as Sally and Gillian Owens. Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest are also reprising their iconic roles as Aunt Frances and Aunt Jet, the eccentric elders who first taught the sisters the ways of magic.

Joining the cast are Joey King, Maisie Williams, and Xolo Maridueña while Lee Pace is the man brave enough to risk the Owens curse. Directed by Susanne Bier, the film looks to balance the whimsical mischief and mayhem of the original with a deeper, more emotional exploration of the family's legacy. 

The magic returns to Philippine cinemas on September 9, 2026.
