Universal Just Confirmed Its Plans for a DARK UNIVERSE Monster Film Series

Universal Pictures announced today, May 23, 2017 that it plans to have a series of films reviving the studio’s classic monster characters for a new generation of film viewers which will be known as the “Dark Universe”. The motion logo for the new initiative features a musical theme and will have its debut in theaters preceding "The Mummy", which is also the first film in the series. The announcement includes details of the relaunching of Universal’s iconic characters into the modern cinema or basically which monsters get to have a go in their own big-screen film, as well as confirmations of Bill Condon as director of the next film in the series, "Bride of Frankenstein". In summary, the "Dark Universe" films will be as follows:

Additionally, here are some details on the expected actors and actresses that will play the leads in these films. Sofia Boutella as The Mummy, Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man, Javier Bardem as Frankenstein, Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll. Unfortunately, no announcements yet for the bride of Frankenstein, Van Helsing and Wolf Man.

It was also unveiled how the Dark Universe films will be all tied up.
