Creep 2: Movie Review

There are few films who surpass their predecessor's success and "Creep 2" is happily part of that rare exception. With this sequel comes bigger things and if you loved the first film then this is a huge upgrade on every level.
Josef (Mark Duplass), now calling himself Aaron, is contemplating retirement from being a serial killer. But before that, he wants his weird life recorded as a documentary. To do that, he hires Sara (Desiree Akhavan), a videographer and aspiring YouTube creator. The two get well together but as day turns into night, Aaron cannot help but do another murder.
"Creep 2" completely blew us away as it found a way to surpass its already wonderful predecessor in every aspect. The first thing you'll notice are the visuals which is a night and day comparison. Everything is crisp and clear and better in high definition. But beyond the visuals, the film and the lore behind Josef is now more fleshed out. Mark Duplass outdoes himself as his interpretation and acting as Josef becomes even more insane and creepier this time around. His acting was authentic, terrifying, and unsettling. Like before, there are a lot of twists, turns, and surprises so be ready to be shocked a lot. Of course there are a few things that still didn't make a lot of sense like Sara not running away from Josef as he reveals his true self and actually instigating his madness further but overall, we enjoyed this a lot than the already excellent first film.
Rating: 4 and a half reels

Why you should watch it:
- bigger and better than the already great first film in every aspect

Why you shouldn't watch it:
- has some logical problems but really minor in the grand scheme of things
